There is nothing I love more about my job than seeing couples become families! Here are the wonderful Zahra and Gursharn with their dog Rambo during their Spring maternity session last month, and introducing gorgeous baby Jayden, photographed for his newborn session this month at 2 weeks new. I have absolutely loved working with this loving family and I'm so excited to see them all again for Jayden's 1st birthday session next year! I hope the next year brings you all limitless joy ~ thank you and lots of love to you all Xx
Here's the lovely Prabhakar family at Ashridge forest, a Winter session right before Christmas. Mum & Dad Rohit & Ranju, their daughters Shikha & Nidhi and son-in-law Amit are all so warm and friendly, and aren't they handsome together! It was lovely to meet you all :) Xx
Here's Megan & Olly at Mentmoor from back in the Summer, the sun didn't shine for us but these two certainly did, aren't they a gorgeous pair! It was a pleasure to meet these two love birds and Megan's very lovely mum Karen - thanks so much guys! Xx
Loved this session with beautiful Mama Natalie & her 37 week Boy Bumpy, her equally beautiful daughter Sofia, partner Stuart and sister Alisa. We headed to Mentmoor for a gorgeous golden hour Summer session in June, the first part of Natalie's Sweet Beginnings package which covers Maternity, Newborn and 1st Birthday.
I just love these photos, a truly lovely family. Natalie looked radiant and sweet Sofia was super excited to meet her little brother. I met with the family again for baby boy's newborn session the next month, he was named Jaxon (look out for his bloggy post - he's adorable!) Thanks so much guys! Xx
It was so nice to meet this gorgeous family, Mum & Dad Sam and Nathan and their sweet boys Harrison (3) and Rowan (1) were all so lovely to meet, aren't the boys adorable together! We had an evening session along the bottom of Dunstable Downs around the corn field and grassland. Thanks again guys Xx
These two have such a lovely connection and are so excited to meet their baby boy this summer! We had a really gorgeous Spring session in the bluebells at Ashridge - I'm so looking forward to meeting their new son in 2 months time! Xx
My sister is so beautiful, and even more so creating life! This is Mandy, Kev and their blooming baby bump at Bison Hill Xx
And here's some bloopers! Hehe..
A lovely Maternity shoot at Mentmoor with my friend Danni & her family. Danni is blooming as you can see! She is 34 weeks pregnant and so excited to meet their baby girl! Wishing them every happiness as their family grows xx
Danni & Tony's baby girl was born about 5 weeks later and was named Amelie. We had a wonderful newborn session - have a look for her blog post :)
It was such a beautiful evening out (not raining for once, hurray!), I just had to drag my little sis and her new hubby Kev out for some pics as the sun went down... she even let me dress her in something a bit flouncy :) as you can see Mandy is a natural model (and an amazing beauty!) Kev did a fab job assisting and helping me bounce the sunlight back onto Mandy to give her an angelic glow. These were all snapped using only natural sunlight just before it dipped below the trees, my fav time of day for photos! I really love all the soft hazy light & sun flares in these photos. Time was limited as the sun was dropping fast and little man was bombing about the place (he managed a few photobombs bless him!) so it was just a quick shoot ~ all shot at Mentmoor in Dunstable at around 8pm.
Before and after editing, and the importance of shooting RAW
Below is an example of before and after the editing process :) the before image on the left is a small jpeg image straight out of the camera, these are shot alongside my RAW files so that I know which image is contained within each RAW file, and they are also used as proof images in the proof viewing galleries so that my clients can choose their favourite images for editing. The JPeg images aren't great; the camera decides on the contrast and saturation etc which isn't generally how I like my image to look. The after image on the right is the finished jpeg which has been edited from the RAW file. (RAW files are huge files that contains image data that has not been compressed, encrypted or processed in any manner, allowing me full creative management of the image) As you can see, after the RAW conversion Mandy doesn't need much touching up at all, but the overall benefits of brightening, enhancing the eyes and hair and the use of creative colour-casts can be seen here, resulting in a beautiful fresh image xx
Lovely evening walk with Rich, Ellen & my little Pudding :) he was trying so hard with those dandelions bless him!
